About Me

Artist Statement

Hobby and passion ... Travelling the world, my camera, sketch pad and I, we gaze and capture unforgettable real-life moments and the imagination. These moments I want to share with my family and friends and with those I do not even know. Drawing is my faithful companion of life since as far as I can remember. It has always been with me, the only thing that is true and fair. The way I see the world, I transfer into my drawings. Exhibiting my drawings I want to share with everyone my view of the world.

Biography

At the age of nine Oxana gained entry to the prestigious Children’s Art School under the tutorage of B. A. Ievlev (a member of the “Artist’s Union of Russia”), where she studied painting, drawing, sketching, composition, sculpture, and clay modelling to name a few! During this time she was a regular contributor to the Municipal Museum “Children’s Picture Gallery” exhibitions. Since then her drawings are still exhibited within the regular collection of the Gallery.

At seventeen Oxana won a place at the University of Architecture where she continued her studies in drawing, painting and sculpture. Since then she has taken part in the annual exhibitions of free artists of Russia.

In 2004 she moved to Italy to continue her art development being particularly impressed by the beauty of the surroundings and the opportunity it presented for artistic interpretation. In 2006 Oxana entered the artistic and cultural association of Palermo, ZIZ “Il Fiore Dell’Arte.” In the following years she participated in all collective exhibitions of painting and sculpture “I Colori Dell’Arte” in the ZIZ Gallery of Art, Palermo City, and was recognised by a city Mayor. The majority of the drawings for the Italian Series are now held in private collections.

Having moved to England in 2009, Oxana joined the Colchester Art Society and participated in a range of local exhibitions. Since 2010 Oxana established herself in Warwickshire and Northamptonshire, finding the local settings picturesque and inspiring for her work.

Aside from participation in local exhibitions, such as the Rugby Art Gallery & Museum, Oxana plans to take part in a range of National exhibitions and competitions, such as the annual John Moores Painting Prize and the Summer Exhibition of the Royal Academy of Arts.

“I am excited to continue sharing my work!”
